Volunteer Coordinator job description (Voluntary)

General Description
Responsible for supporting Cardigan Internet Radio’s day-to-day coordination of volunteers; and on-boarding of new volunteers.  

Desired experience

• Volunteer management experience, preferably with a nonprofit community organisation.

• Experience as a volunteer, preferably with a nonprofit community organisation.

• Experience in mediation or conflict resolution

• Experience training or teaching volunteers preferred

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent organisational and time management skills and attention to detail

• Radio experience a plus

• Ability to learn and teach skills applicable to volunteers

• Ability to work well under pressure and without direct supervision

   

Essential Functions

• Schedule, coordinate, and supervise off-air volunteers

• Conduct volunteer inductions

• Coordinate volunteer training in cooperation with other staff

• Direct volunteers to appropriate areas of work

• Assist in conflict resolution between volunteers and in volunteer grievances

• Promote Cardigan Internet Radio volunteering

• Attend staff and team meetings where possible

• Other position related duties as assigned

• Responsible for maintaining volunteer records.
